Tai Ping - tradition and passion

The famour carpet brand was founded in 1956 by brothers Lawrence and Horace Kadoorie and their friends. They had a very specific goal for the company: to offer people from the most diverse backgrounds a space in which they could work together and grow together. The concept worked: the brand quickly achieved international fame with its special designs and craftsmanship, until the American elite also took notice of the small manufactory: Tai Ping was awarded the contract that would go down in the company's history, the memory of which even today adorns the brand's logo. Tai Ping was commissioned in 1985 to make the infamous carpet of Grauman's Chinese Theater, which they succeeded in doing under the most difficult conditions. Braving a storm, the huge carpet was completed on a tennis court, covered by an old circus tent for protection - the result was a true masterpiece of craftsmanship and delighted the client, as well as numerous viewers for years to come. The tent on the brand's logo is meant to commemorate this history-making moment and show the dedication with which Tai Ping fulfills every customer request.
