Flannel - warm yet breathable
As soon as autumn is coming, the nights get cooler and we crave cozy, soft bedding. We tend to switch from summer linen bedding to a a warmer and softer material. Flannel is a fabric made of cotton or wool, brushed on one or both sides. Despite its dense twill weave, the texture of the fabric is one of the three basic weave types for woven fabrics. You can recognize twill weaves by the diagonal ridge. After weaving, the fabric is napped or milled. This gives it its wonderfully soft surface and creates air pockets between the fibers, which store heat and thus insulate. At the same time, flannel can absorb liquids, but dries quickly and is therefore very breathable. There is no better choice for a winter bedding than flannel!
