Rizzoli: international publishing

In addition to its publishing operations, which began in 1974, Rizzoli has since established other subsidiaries. In 1990, for example, the company added Universe Publishing, which marked its entry into the pop culture worlds of humor, beauty, sports, performing arts, and gay and alternative lifestyles. In 2011, Rizzoli also founded Ex Libris, an imprint dedicated to publishing sophisticated literary fiction and nonfiction with a transatlantic flavor. Since January 2018, Rizzoli has also been producing his museum and exhibition publications under a new imprint, Rizzoli Electa. In the United States, Canada, and Latin America, the Rizzoli International Publications unit distributes the English-language titles of the British publishers Pavilion and National Trust and the French publisher Flammarion.
