More than just a towel

The structure and haptics of the towels offer timeless quality made in Japan. Whether it is a minimalist, functional towel for your everyday life or you are travelling with the hand-woven towels, drying off is a whole new experience with such a high quality product. The beautiful products are manufactured by Kontex. Founded in 1934 in Imabari, Japan, Kontex produces its textiles using old traditional looms and weaving techniques. Compared to modern machines used for fast mass production, this process is more time-consuming but shows better results: The textile can absorb more liquid, the texture is softer and it dries faster.

KENKAWAI is simple: linen, cotton and activated carbon

All textiles are woven from pure cotton and linen without synthetic fibres. The products have a varying fibre content of linen and cotton. The fibres are cleaned with water flowing from Mount Ishizuchi. Natural orange oil is used for the dyeing process. For home care, Kenkawai also offers products made of or with activated charcoal. For facial care, there is the activated charcoal sponge, which cleanses your face mildly and without soap. The activated charcoal toothbrush, which has bristles infused with activated charcoal, ensures a radiant smile and clean teeth. The exfoliating washcloth also contains activated charcoal powder.
