Italian furniture everlasting
It is HENGE's mission to create furniture and objects for eternity and to make products with a personality that do not allow contemporary trends and temporary currents to define them. The name "HENGE" says it all. It refers to the origins of our culture, to the earliest buildings of our time and describes a raw design claim that represents the antithesis of fast-moving life and the pursuit of perfection. Massimo Castagna, who has worked as the label's creative director since 2011, describes his work as a journey through space and time, always on the lookout for forgotten craft techniques and materials.
HENGE: unique designer furniture
At HENGE, the collections do not follow a particular theme or trend, but all have a very different and instinctive design approach, which produces exceptional, handmade one-offs and creates designer furniture with a strong character that breaks up and redefines the routine of an interior. The starting point for each individual product is the finest, most diverse materials such as metal, wood, marble, copper, bronze and soft leather, all carefully selected according to their ageing process: HENGE's objects are meant to be companions that are passed down from generation to generation and do not age with time, but only develop their special patina and their own charm through many years of use. Irregularities and inclusions in wood and stone are not concealed, but are welcomed and contribute to the uniqueness of the furniture and the emphasis on natural materials..
