Dieser Bär ist eine Hommage an die Band The Doors, genauer gesagt an ihr zweites Studioalbum Strange Days. Das Coverbild wurde hier aufgegriffen und nun auf dem Bären verkörpert. Das Album wurde 1967 veröffentlicht und von dem Magazin The Rolling Stones mit dem Platz 409 der 500 besten Alben bewertet. Tatsuhiko Akashi, Geschäftsführer von Medicom Toys, hat persönlich eine besondere Zusammenstellung von Bearbricks kuratiert, die während des Akashic Records Pop-up-Events veröffentlicht wurden.
